Yep – some folk should hang their heads in shame.

Forgot what it tastes like?! How do you cope? Anyway, it doesn’t really need adverts but love the snowman one.
21 December, 2007 at 12:33 am #296119Don’t quite follow that logic. In my book, the term international – footballing wise – refers to someone who has played or does play for their country. Not someone from a different country to mine.
By that logic you could say that every footballer the world over is an international, even Sunday league footballers.

Well done to Aberdeen tonight by the way. Great result.
Certainly was, Sionko certainly proved his point to Walter Smith
21 December, 2007 at 12:09 am #296118Seems to be a good career move for the player as well. I read somewhere, think it was the following day, that the Manchester United ‘star’ was also an international. Not sure exactly when that happened but if that’s the sign of things to come under Capello, Lee Hughes caused death by dangerous driving so he must be in line for the captaincy.
18 December, 2007 at 9:19 pm #295572Have to agree with Slayer, a guy like Capello is just what England need. They have some quality players but they don’t perform to the best of their abilities often enough. Those days look to be gone as he won’t stand for it. Could be that we see quite a few new faces in the England squad.
Did anyone else think that when Barwick was reeling off the list of attributes that it sounded like the start of the A-Team? If you get the chance, watch it back and imagine the A-Team music striking up just as he says ‘Fabio Capello’

Probably – it seems that only certain people get away with certain things on here.
13 December, 2007 at 2:04 pm #294851Good – cos you didn’t. I’m on backshifts all week so it can’t get any worse!
I think the thing is, and I argue about this with my mum a lot too, is that I have a better understanding now of how the police operate and the limits which they work within (I can assure you, most cops would like to be able to do more but their hands are tied by the powers that be) and realize now more than ever that things are very rarely as straightforward as they seem. And I do know for a fact that a lot of the time – not all of the time though – that people actually have no reason to complain. I’ve heard folk talking about things that I know about and blowing the whole thing out of proportion. They just do it for the sake of having a story to tell. That’s why I’m usually sceptical.
Two different points of view that will probably never find a happy medium.
13 December, 2007 at 1:49 pm #295020I reckon Capello would be a good choice, problem is doesn’t speak much English so he’d need an assistant who can speak both Italian and English. So he’d probably be foreign as well and that might not sit well with some.
He’s also not much of a media man so the press interest before he’s even got the job may play a part. Didn’t Scolari turn down the job because of the media?
13 December, 2007 at 1:41 pm #294849Feel free – won’t ruin my day in any way, shape or form. It’s usually a last resort anyway.
