I have kinda emmigrated – I live in France, but have a flat in London, which is a pit-stop for my family when, and, should they need it. The French health system is brilliant, as so, is the NHS. With the French health system you pay and get 75% back if you are not a ‘citizen’, but that is the same if you are (ie you have to pay 25%)!! Don’t ask me lol I think that is probably the same anywhere in the EU, dunno.
As for seasons, I love them, that is why we chose France (nothing to do with the language lol – I didn’t do Spanish, Italian, blah de blah at school – and I am not sure Latin would help either!), and the seasons are extreme here, but with a log fire in the winter, and pretty flowers in the spring, and wonderful different colours in the autumn, who cares eh? Same weather, different temperatures which is brill.
I do a job I love – teaching/coaching swimming OUTDOORS, which I couldn’t do in the UK – stuffed in a chlorine pool, stinging my eyes – no thanks!
You just got to have the guts to go for it. I have lived here now for 9 years, and loved every minute of it, well apart from burning some suppers once or twice!! lol
I like France anc, when the kids were little we always went there they loved it. You have the best of both worlds having a bolt hole in the UK too, its good to keep a foot in both camps.
Had a long chat with a customer yesterday about a job interview she was going for, she was so low and needed her spirits lifting and some positive thinking…well I guess it did the trick, she’s just come in with the biggest smile I’ve ever seen to say she got the job and thank you :D
Just a shop? Just a shop assistant? Nah, I think there’s something truly magical at work here and I love it! :D
So you should Jen, a business created by just one person……. YOU! and, like you said much more than that too… part of the community! I’m envious!
