I have no idea whether they did it because of their passion for England and the English but that doesn’t bother me at all- they played their part (often essential part) in a team that won a momentous cricket test match series- I have aboslutely no reason to doubt their desire and committment to the cause
if Arsenal win on Wednesday night, there won’t be many Gooners (or football fans in general) who will be too bothered that 90% of the team isn’t English.
If we win the world cup- does it matter that the manager isn’t English?
Anyway I was mainly supportive on this thread and Im not “anti” you, Im only against the things you say that I don’t agree with- as a person I have no idea what you are like as we’ve never met!

It has been brought to my attention, that the Leicester housing association (LHA) is openly racially discriminating against non Afro caribbean people for nomination of their property.
The accomodation for caribbean court, lincoln st Leicester, is ONLY available to those who are Afro caribbeans.
The above two quotes are not only completely wrong and factually inaccurate but arguably defammatory to the LHA organisation- to accuse an organisation of open racial discrimination is actually to accuse them of breaking the law- it is illegal to positively discriminate in favour of any one group of people.

A non English person, cannot have access to all the qualifications needed to be the England manager.
A non English person doesnt feel the same passion for England, like a brazillian wouldnt feel the same for argentina, north korean for their southern neighbours etc.
I remember tony banks asking phony blair in parliament, what his delight would be like if England “led us to victory in the world cup” years ago, phony said, it would be good for the country if THEY win…
He isnt English, he hasnt got passion for Englishness, he has never and never will be a true leader for England.
A TRUE English person would in these modern times, make St George’s day a bank holiday by now.
Absolute cra/p- half the England team that won the Ashes last year weren’t born here and two of them were at one point South African and they didnt lack passion or desire
14 May, 2006 at 9:18 pm #218209Hi Ruby
yep, I didnt read the thread properly (in my excitement) – I have no qualms with a PM from any of the 4 regions of the UK, just dont let him vote on English law if he’s Scottish!
14 May, 2006 at 8:26 pm #218205For a change, I am, and have been since devolution, supportive of Emma’s viewpoint- no Scottish MP should be able to vote on laws which solely affect England in areas of government that the Scottish Parliament has executive powers over in Scotland- unless the right of English MP’s to vote on Scottish legislation (and Welsh) is agreed.

He did a decent job slayer, but its about the season gone, not the previous 3 aswell.
Just this season?
Aye Emma,he’s done a fine job this season and if Lincoln don’t reach Cardiff again this year (which after Saturday’s performance doesn’t look too hopeful)- I think he will move on to big and better things
Always the bridesmaid, never the bride!

Racism is everywhere, whether in the US, the UK or Asia. Some people just hate other because of skin colour, or religion. I met some westerners who discriminated me because I have a yellow skin, but I don’t really care at all. I just called them ignorant people who harbour hatred in their heart.
This world would be a better place to live in if we just get along with each other.
:D
A very learned response after 3 posts- are you sure you’ve not been here before?
12 May, 2006 at 10:27 pm #215172thank you Ruby- I did say my knowledge of Scottish law was limited (and clearly limiting)- you are the JC North of the Border Font
