My daughter is 11 n started her periods last month (n bled all over me new settee ffs) – she is fairly grown up, has a “boyfriend” (i.e a friend who is a boy), n does all the usual girlie things- to imagine her having sex at her age n about to give birth…can’t, just can’t imagine it- it does not compute
Interestingly though I heard on the news today that the 15 year old father of the child has already been charged with rape not underage sex- this, I assume (in my limited knowledge of scottish law) means the act was not consensual
12 May, 2006 at 9:36 pm #215166Arthur Harris once said “they have sown the wind, now they shall reap the whirlwind”.
The only people to blame for our childrens actions is ourselves (generically rather than individually). I have 4 kids from 13 yrs to 8 weeks old. I, like many others on here, try to teach them right from wrong, values, morals, etc. BUT society and the media portrays sex and alcohol as if they were normal every day acts- we still have a newspaper that has a woman’s ti/ts on page 3 etc- Look at our society- Friday night and saturday night is pi/sh night n pull what you can (and we’ve all been there)- don’t kid ourselves that our actions didn’t rub off on younger brothers and sisters or neighbours or friends or school mates etc. Kids today act no differently than we did, just at a younger age. As I said at the start, we as teenagers have sown the wind, now as 30 and 40 something parents we are reaping the whirlwind.
In my opinion

Its next door to the WISCP- West Indian Senior Citizens Project centre- its the only one in Leicester (that I know of) and hence would naturally appeal to BWI.
Emma- If you go to a travel agent and book a holiday in the sun- it will say “appeals to families” or “would suit 18-30’s” or ” ideal for couples” etc etc- it is does not say that other groups can’t apply, it is simply informing those who wish to apply of the benefits for certain types of people (you wouldn’t want people in their 80’s in San Antonio Bay would you)
Thats all this is- it advises groups of people which flats may appeal to particular groups of people because of location, type of building, amenities etc but anyone can and do apply
8 May, 2006 at 10:44 pm #214177It’s the classic double whammy F
1) Do you think young thugs should be taught the meaning of respect, discipline and self control, the meaning of working as a team and relying on others- do you think National service is a good thing?
2) Do you think we should train young thugs how to kill with their bare hands, abuse and dehumanise them and then let them loose on society? Do you think national service is a good thing?
Same question but likely very different answers
8 May, 2006 at 10:30 pm #214174Have to disagree on this one James
I am happy to recognise the positives that immigration has brought to this country. However the fact that you have escaped persecution or civil unrest does not hold any sway should you commit a crime here which is serious enough to warrant incarceration.
The only outcome should be prison sentence and then immediate deportation. I don’t see any middle ground on this one- I do not feel any responsibility for anyone who may be deported back to a country which is not as secure, safe or stable as ours-
just like speeding, you can complain all you like, but if everyone drove to the speed limit, there would be no speeding tickets! If you don’t commit a crime in a country which has welcomed you, then you won’t find yourself going home!

Should any non British citizen break the law sufficiently to warrant a prison sentence, then deportation should be the only consideration.
Whether they be Irish, Dutch, Danish, Somali, Kosovan, etc etc- I welcome anyone to this country (as seen from previous threads) but abuse the law then homeward bound it is.

Guidelines means what should happen
And if those guidelines dont happen?
What happens now if a 3 year old doesn’t want to play with anyone else?
Teachers teach, teachers have rules- teachers do not physically force any child- YOU CANNOT PHYSICALLY FORCE A CHILD TO DO SOMETHING AGAINST IT’S WILL- IT IS ILLEGAL- END OF STORY
Lord Ouseley, who wrote a report on the 2001 Bradford riots, said different racial groups have to play together “from day one”.
And if they dont, what will happen?
AND…. different racial groups have to play together- very good, you’ve can read.
Now read this… firstly find a link that explains how our legislature works, then read it, then come back and tell us all that a “report” isn’t law.
To link child abuse to the Ouseley report says more about you than you will ever understand

Firstly Emma Put up or shut up- show us the link that demonstrates that Leicester Housing Association (LHA) “openly discriminates”- there isn’t one cos it doesn’t happen
Ive searched for a link, but with no luck.
I have in front of me, a “homechoice” list of LHA accomodation. The 2nd one is the one im on about.
They charge £72.25 weekly. Ref: 77/L1234. support charge £16.69 weekly.
Caribbean court, 31-37 Lincoln st Leicester Le2 (Im not giving full code)
Described as “Studio room, first floor, with full gas central heating and communal gardens”.On wednesday i will do another search for you, try “homechoice” if you like.
6) If you’re going to slander organisations, I suggest you get your facts correct- the internet is not a safe place to slander nor is it anonymous
I have the facts infront of me, word for word. “scheme for afro caribbeans OVER 55’s”.
“Afro caribbean scheme for over 55’s” is a long long long way from open discrimation- as you see from my post above as to why this scheme would suit africans or caribbeans BUT it does not say whites need not apply.
There will be numerous schemes for people with disabilities etc but none of those schemes deny the right of anyone to apply or be accepted
As I said before Emma, you are on very very thin ice with this one especially as LHA is an exceptionally respected organisation thats works for the whole community
