We can all “live” without it but it wouldnt necessarily make our life easier- you can “live” without almost anything electrical

But if we have it, use it – for booking concert tickets, airline flights, holidays, bank online (and w*nk on line too), search for your ancestors, play games, the list is endless- ffs, I managed to book a whole months worth of car hire, plane, train and ferry services, accomodation etc for a country 12,000 miles away all because of the net.

No we don’t live in a perfect country, who does? :roll: I don’t blame all the ills on minorities and immigrants. I do tho, feel that there needs to be a limit to the immigration into this country. Were a very small island compared to the rest of the world. People have to cross many countries to get to this one, why can they not settle in another country, one where they would be just as safe but perhaps don’t have the welfare state that we do. Now i’m sorry if that sounds racist, it’s not meant as racist but it stands to reason that were not a bottomless pit. I know too that not all immigrants to this country are on state handouts, and I admire the ones who do find work/businessess etc and make a contribution. Where I live, the vast majority of people are! on state benefits, many of them, Kosovans/Albanians/Russians, who have been given homes by the council (which the council deny) and are subsequently sub-letting room by room at around £60 – £75 a week, not bad for someone who’s already receiving benefits and then have around 2 or 3 rooms let at that cost each week, nice work if you can get it eh :roll: :roll:

I agree Cas- Ive said on another thread that i think we will, in the not too distant future, be full in terms of immigration to live here – doesn’t mean I dont believe there isnt a place in our society for other nationalities to lork and thrive. I’ve also said on here that the biggest way to disenfranchise the indigenous population (that includes Britons of all colours) is to put the needs of immigrants ABOVE the needs of other nationalities- that will ensure antagonism, distrust and hostility.

As for subletting- simple, it’s illegal, against council rules- just like anyone else, shop ’em n let the council deal with them

Ugo, why didn’t you go back to the receptionist and explain that this guy was taking your place, which I agree was wrong. This isn’t new! not all but some of them have very selective abilities of speaking english.

I would have been tempted to say well if he doesn’t speak english it won’t matter that he takes his turn will it. As it was, and as you say yourself, you made yourself look the bad guy and ultimately wrong.

I dont see how being angry at that situation is wrong?

I hate using the word racism but lets face it, these are the things that get ppl bl o o d y narked. As i have said before and will say a million times, racism towards white skin is rife, yet no one does anything about it as its not taken seriously. Where as racism against black skin is …..well lets not even go there is case im arreseted and charged with racism.

Sorry Tadpole, I didn’t mean he shouldn’t be angry, i’d have been angry, and yr right it does get people narked, but when you lose it, they ultimately win don’t they. I know how hard it is believe me, but it’s so much better if you can keep your cool and insist on your appointment being honoured in the first place, it’s not Ugo’s fault this guy chose not to speak english at that point and he shouldn’t have been the one made to wait.

Thank you Cas, some common sense- it appears Ugo wasn’t able to communicate (with the very job centre advisor concerned) and simply ASK why he had been made to wait and why someone had jumped the queue. And, if Ugo felt he had been discrimated against, make a complaint. Wouldn’t be the first time Ive done it and I doubt it will be the last- but to complain on a website and then admit you didnt even ask why- ffs

Which bit are we picking up Cas? I am at a loss to understand where the “sharia law forced in the Uk” comes from. Just because some British Muslims want sharia law here ( a minority according to opinion polls) doesn’t mean it will ever happen, and how can they “force” it. Just as repatriation of everyone who isn’t lilly white won’t ever happen either (just cos the BNP say it should).
