We havent had a majority government since 1951 (and that was a coalition)- in fact we havent had a proper majority governemnt since before women had the vote.
Fact is, the UK elections are decided in a small number of constituencies with a minute proportion of the electorate truly affecting outcome- and to suggest spoiling ballot papers in one of these constituencies is ridiculous
The fact you feel no affinity with a political party, or your political party isnt going to get elected so you spit your dummy out and advise everyone to spoil their ballot papers is barking
16 April, 2008 at 9:07 pm #326194oh apparently its already been shown on all 5 channels
Well, that was an anti climax wasnt it
16 April, 2008 at 9:05 pm #326193Wasp hunny- its nothing to do with opinion polls or the public, its to do with the law- the BNP cannot legally be denied a ppb of they field a certain number of candidates-they reached whatever figure it is and legally the beeb cannot stop them
Climbdown it may be but it’s feck all to do with joe bloggs in the street n more to do with bnp lawyers

I was thinking back to other cases like James Bulger, Sarah Payne, Hollie and Jessica from Soham. All victims of third parties. I know each case was difficult, its not really the circumstances Im comparing, but the fact that they all concern abduction of some sort.
I cannot imagine as a parent what it must have been like to go through what they went through, but really am concerned that because of recent events some poor family somewhere will and will also face the onslaught of finger pointing not only from the public and media but perhaps from the police. That on top of a missing child is a horrendous thought.
Lets hope that this will not be the case, but I can see that some people will always be cynical no matter what the circumstances.
I hope I never have to go through anything like this, this latest twist in the Matthews story will leave a bitter taste for a lot of people.
The reason you reeled those names of the top of your head (as almost all of us could) was because the are so well known BECAUSE they were 3rd party abductees- this is so unusual (still)- I still recall Sarah Hogg, Jason Swift, Mark Tildsley, Barry Lewis.
It is the rarity and media focus which makes them so reknowned.
However the majority of child murders, rapes etc are by either a family friend or someone they know- the police ALWAYS investigate family first (or at least simultaneously)

Thats why Stephen King called his character John Coffey in the Green Mile (JC=John Coffey=Jesus Christ)
Clever man
JC is JC- its there like a cheap tart- useful, dispensable n easily infected but still gives you a slightly tepid feeling in your groin
I’ve never met anyone off here, I’ve posted over 2,000 times but doubt anyone would have any idea what I’m like n have never even chatted to anyone (cept one  )
Bit like masturbation- some days you have a bigger urge than others to use JC but if you miss a few days, your life don’t end

27 March, 2008 at 10:57 pm #318350Its a facile argument
Leicester City is not made up of 11 players who are all born in Leicester- Lincoln City does not have 11 players born in Lincoln
Whats the difference? Just cos Arsenal dont have 11 English players doesn’t make them a “none” English team

Evidence is not necessary proof. There was evidence England would beat France, proof?
You are a complete idiot, not only do i have evidence, but factual evidence.
No, what you have is subjective opinion NOT evidence
I really can’t be ar/sed to debate anything with someone so obtuse and ridiculous- you make yourself a laughing stock
