“Change a letter” has altered somewhat since I was last here! It only used to be 4 letters :D
24 July, 2006 at 9:51 pm #232188Couldn’t agree more Becky- horses for courses..what suits one won’t suit another
It is amusing though when I think of leaving school in 1985, holidays abroad without the parents, drinking (legally), etc etc n the missus was still in primary school

What I find laughable is Emma’s attempt to take a valid debating issue (which this is) and turn into something more sinister- words like “indigenous second class citizens” (I will assume she means “white” though of course all colours, creeds etc born here are “indigenous” although Emma refuses to accept that), “anti white racism” and “humiliation” etc
Where in this thread do i say “indigenous second class citizens”?
No i didnt mean white. I have however said white and or English indigenous before.
When did i refuse to accept “all colours, creeds etc born here are “indigenous””?
Not giving someone a job on the basis of skin colour when your white, IS, anti-white racism. And of course, THAT is humiliation. You have such an application of incitement to hatred about your mind.
“An application of incitement to hatred about your mind” doesn’t make sense
I am white and I am not humiliated by the events in Brighton- you mean spasmodic humiliation not total humiliation then.
I stand corrected…you state “no longer second class citizens”…therefore we are worse than second class citizens? However it is nice to see you accept that all British inhabitants are “indigenous” and all have the same right to live and thrive here. At last you see sense!
You do seem confused though when you clarify “indigenous” with the phrase “anti-white racism”- ergo implying the connection- simple really my dear Watson
22 July, 2006 at 10:15 pm #139265I was walking in the park dreaming of a spark
When I heard the sprinklers whisper
Shimmer in the haze of summer lawns
Then I heard the children singing
They were running through the rainbows
They were singing a song for you
Well it seemed to be a song for you
The one I wanted to write for you, for you
Lavenders blue, dilly dilly, lavenders green
When I am King, dilly dilly, you will be Queen
A penny for your thoughts my dear
A penny for your thoughts my dear
I.O.U. for your love, IOU for your loveLavenders green, dilly dilly, lavenders blue
When you love me, dilly dilly, I will love you
A penny for your thoughts my dear
A penny for your thoughts my dear
IOU for your love, IOU for your loveFor your love

What are you lot scared about? Why can you not accept her diverse and sometimes extreme views? We live in a democracy and all I see is people absolutely slating her… fine, but she has her views, she is entitled to them … instead of being no brainers and attacking her, give good reasons, arguments and suggestions as to why she is wrong … you are as bad as anything right or left wing for your harrassing of this person. You are just to stupid to see it.
No definition of “democracy” I know of states you have to deferentially accept someone elses point of view- a democracy gives them the right to have that point of view but that is all. No one on here has said she isn’t entitled to her point of view, but the very fact she makes her point of view public quite obviously enables those who disagree to make statements to that effect….that is a democracy
So according to you though, we should never take a contrary position to a serious thread topic- be a bit of a short thread then wouldnt it!
Topic- “The sky is green”
Posts- NIL- cos its a democracy n we cant disagree
End of topic!!
21 July, 2006 at 9:21 pm #231442Is it accpetable to bar someone because of the colour of their skin? Not for one minute should it be, any colour, any skin- you can advise where characteristics may be applicable (i.e. social worker in a chinese community, able to speak Mandarin essential, will probably exclude almost all non chinese), make preferences etc but to BAR someone is wrong

As for Magoo’s point- I don’t believe anyone on here is out to prove anything about Emma. she does that well enough on here own

A woman after my own heart- the reaction, anywhere in Spain, when you ask for a meal in Spanish is one of genuine appreciation. I had the same argument one night in Ibiza town Ruby over Franco- he still casts a long shadow over there (I woder how many tourists know who Franco is?!!)
