I’d recommend a book by Roger Bootle, ” MAKING A SUCCESS OF BREXIT AND REFORMING THE EU”. Anyway, it’s not a hard read, it speaks our language, no baffling gobbledegook or lecturing and very insightful. I think you’d like it. :good:

    Interesting choice, M.

Bootle is one of the right-wing market economists looked to by Jacob Rees-Mogg, and is very keen on a no-deal solution.

Most people think no-deal would be a real problem, causing misery for large numbers of people, but hey, no pain, no gain  .

So why do you think Bootle’s prescription for Britain being successful post-Brexit is a good one?

You’re a lucky gal, Drac. She sounds interesting. Why does she love Moggy though? He makes me giggle, and I respect his sense of principle, but I don’t love him.

You would have to ask her for specifics, but I would guess that its because he isn’t ashamed of who he is, and doesn’t pretend to be someone else because of it, and because of his accent.

Yeah, I see that about Rees-Mogg. He’s fun to watch, and he is a man of principle. But, the principles are bloody awful :negative:

I doubt I’ll ever be able to ask her for the specifics, but she’s a brave gal taking on a right-wing libertarian such as yourself

Really, I wish you both the very very best. :good:

No they don’t, you’re talking crap again. That said, people voted to leave the EU which hasn’t stopped your board meltdowns denying the outcome of a democratic vote

Lol you bandy about the words right wing like they are swear words, anyone right of Corbyn is right wing. Bootle is a very succcessful and highly acclaimed free trade economist, very well informed on all key issues and very aware of the consequences of the EUs future, one way or the other.

There you go again with ‘ most people’ like ‘ I once new a man who said ….’

Anyway my post was to Jamie,  and I may or may not answer your question depending on whether there are more important things to see to  :-)

I have to smile at Scep routinely dismissing people who disagree with him with an “ I wish you well” lol .

    Tut tut

Of course when Scep brands someone as right wing he is trying to label them fascists and racists . There is a vast difference between identities, cultures, religions and civilizations TO  particular sets of political arrangements and institutions !  I think he’s become brainwashed by his flag waving pro EU buddies having a day out in London ! And this attitude is exactly why the EU has made such a balls up of things. It’s that attitude which turns people anti EU !!

Sceptical starts threads labelling people as “giant ballbags” for daring to question his sickly agenda but when his silly arguments based on a foundation of wet sand collapse, he reverts to playing victim looking for sympathy as a  wronged party. It’s a classic tactic from the remoaners mob handbook, try to argue their points and when all else fails scream about misogyny , racism, xenophobia like a baby clutching a rattle in a pram demanding attention. Scepticals the sort of individual to march down the streets demanding more toilets for cross dressing transvestites should be built with a placard saying “hate crime” but remain silent when Muslim sex gangs are exposed claiming it’s racist to even mention it or rightly pointing out the vast majority of immigrants are unskilled workers taking low paid jobs with his “evidence ” to the contrary his brother who once knew a plumber called Mr Popovski
