and once again …….” whoooosh…….”
So anyway …. I was walking down the road, minding my own business, listening to the birds and admiring the view, when I came across a signpost that said ”Welcome to Lancashire”. As I walked passed it I heard it shout an obscenity, I stopped and looked at the signpost and noticed it looked really angry. As it turned out it had just found out that a signpost in Cheshire was getting paid twice as much as he was, the signpost was furious….. To cut a long story short, I put my arm around the signpost and said calming , soothing words to it and eventually it calmed down and thanked me for my time ……
Good job signs aren’t just placated in Somerset eh ………

Interesting topic. I am not sure I buy into the men are all evil, women are all victims. I think the difference is that damaged men are more prone to use physical violence and that damaged women are more prone to use psychological. When I say men are more prone to use physical violence, I mean men are physically stronger than some women and so the violence used is much more likely to cause serious harm. The statistics suggest there is not much difference gender wise with levels of domestic abuse and violence but that men are much more likely to injure or kill their partners.

Maybe childhood abuse of females is more likely to make them submissive. get used to being manipulated and used by others and childhood abuse of males is more likely to make them angry fucked up and want to take revenge?
Women brought up in a sexually abusive peado environment as a child are less likely to turn into sexual deviants and find underage ex acceptable than the men who have been subjected to that kind of abuse and reality.
Statistically speaking men who think that at being 45+ years old and perving over a 17/18 year old is acceptable have most likely been subjected to some kind of abuse as a child.

And in order to break the cycle of abuse you need to look at yourself and never pass it down to your children.
I don’t agree with kids walking around naked or being naked around them. I don’t believe its right to sexualise children at a young age or have open bathroom doors and not give them their privacy.

but I am a mother who has brought up two kids who talk to me about everything, we are very open with everything but they knew from a young age the dangers of dirty old men.
Disagree with me all you like but there are so many less dirty old inappropriate females in this world than dirty old men who think its acceptable to fantasise that some young man/woman would ever accept their dirty scummy advances.

Given the fact that the age of consent in this country is 16 (and some argue it should be lower), what should be the punishment be for you if you stab someone for legally sleeping with a 16 year old?
I think there are some very wavy lines in this area. If a 45 year old man and an 18 year old girl formed a relationship over time and ‘ fell in love’ became a couple, I have no issue with that. Some men in their 40’s/50’s are very fit, healthy and attractive, some 18 yr old girls are very mature for their age, I realise a lot of people would frown upon this sort of relationship, but if they are happy and hurting no one I have no issue. However, I do have an issue with middle aged men and older, chatting up young women online, pretending they are younger, lying, talking dirty to get their rocks off, lets be honest 90% of this behaviour is online as no young woman who has all her marbles would look twice at granddad in real life, most are more than likely older than their Father. The debate about the age of sexual consent is also difficult and I do feel for the 16 year old boy who has been in a relationship with his girlfriend for some time but now is on the sexual offenders list because they had sex a month before her 16th birthday, however, debated this with many people many times. I do not believe the age for sexual consent should be lowered at all, and I know NO women who do. Better safe than sorry, but each case, as the above should be treated individually examining the circumstances.

If my son brought a granny home I’d also be mortified I’ll admit that, however I don’t feel we can impose our personal opinions on people, I’d have to accept it if they said they wanted to be together, I certainly wouldn’t lose my Son over it, even if I was unhappy about it.

The problem of deception in online chat is not a problem in this discussion because informed consent is just not there. You have no clue as to who you’re talking to online, and can easily be fooled by a clever chatter. This isn’t just middle-aged or old men. A yung guy can claim to be a marine with a lot of years of active service duty, and can easily fool a young girl (in my experience girls in their teens can be as daft as a brush though, unlike a lot of men, they grow up pdq). When I lived in Co Durham a young teen girl in my town was fooled into thinking she was talking to a young US marine and was persuaded to run off with him to live in the States. The guy was actually middle-aged. The only reason they caught him was that the car broke down and they discovered the girls body in the boot.
There are many reasons why young girls are attracted to older men, even old men in their 60s, I’m afraid. The same goes for young men and older women. The grandfather of my ex- was 78 when he married an 18-year old. She had two children by him (when he was in his early 80s) before God called him to the Harem in the Sky. I doubt it was sexual attraction (from her, that is), but sexual attraction isn’t the only reason young women go for old men.
I fully agree that each case has to be assessed on its merits. There is a lot of social pressure applied to older men and women who ‘baby-snatch’ younger ones. What matters in the end is informed consent.
Men and women can mature very quickly. Men and women who are over-protected by their parents can be actually very immature in their minds while fully-developed physically. When I was 23 I was emotionally like a child with women. The 28year old woman who picked me up should have been arrested and put inside for a very long period imho
.There are moves to reduce the age of consent to 15. It’s 13 in some countries, I think, though I’ve done no research, not even googling on this one. I am of an open mind on this. All that concerns me is that careful discretion be applied.
