Ge I can’t find any research to say UK is worse than any other country in Europe or indeed the world for paedophilia, could you let me know where this comes from please ?  I’m not sure any stats actually exist or how accurate they could be really, as by its very nature paedophilia and the people involved in these ‘rings’ are so off  the radar and secretive, also it isn’t always British offenders so that alters the goal posts too. I know it has been reported a lot in recent years and had much publicity but is that just because they’ve been caught, the rings have been broken and maybe other countries aren’t admitting they have a problem ? I don’t know, just asking the question,,,, interested is all. From what I have read up on the UK has no problems at all if you compare it to the likes of South Africa  ( yes I know the size difference ) however , a child is raped in south Africa every 3 minutes, 1 in 4 men admit to having raped someone and 62 % of boys over 11 believe girls like being raped , this was reported by The Independent . Jesus, sobering isn’t it…

24 is stupidly high, IMHO, because ‘a’ person may be very emotionally immature at that age doesn’t mean they all are, most 24 year olds are either in higher education or working and have left home, well I and all my contemporaries had anyway, able to vote, drink alcohol, drive , have a mortgage , marry, but no sex ? lolol  Just as because one 14 year old may be super competent and intelligent emotionally and socially consent shouldn’t be lowered just to suit that 1 person or even a few. ” I knew someone who ……” isn’t enough and it doesn’t make it the norm …. we all ‘know’ people …… lol

Just as an afterthought guys  I just was re-reading up on the different ages of consent etc in different countries,  I’d forgotten how convoluted it all was,  you cant just say ‘ well in such and such country its this ”  it comes down to so many different aspects, the sex of the people, the age gap, the religious beliefs, I think Linda touched on, its a mine field really….  and probably will remain one, sigh…. Night

It is interesting that most posting about this tend to agree, I think some may have just taken mizzy’s original post about ‘ old men’ a bit personally, made worse by later comments by the OP I admit, when it wasn’t aimed at ALL  old people at all or how they are disgusting !!  Fgs, we will all get old, my comments were made about older men grooming young girls online, yes we know others lie and manipulate online, men and women, but that wasn’t what the post was about. Making it into an argument about how we treat older people is ridiculous. It happens, its in the news constantly, they have teams of officers pretending to be young girls trying to ‘get’ these men constantly. You may not like it, I certainly hope men in general don’t feel ashamed because they are male, they shouldn’t, women can be and are just as manipulative and evil, but you can’t deny its a problem and that is / was the debate, for me anyway.
