I doubt there will be proof either way as to whether God exists in our lifetime….in fact, even if it was proven that the universe and everything in it was created in an explainable, scientific way, leaving no space for anything supernatural or by design, believers would still choose to ignore the facts rather than except that their faith, time, reading, was all in vain, therefore making their beliefs totally self serving, so I think this ‘discussion’ moot.
my point being they lived before a lot of medical science was discovered including DNA etc….
tbf, only 2 of those named above were born before 1900 and none before 1930……

I think everyone is well aware of his strength of character in overcoming so many hurdles physically, I wish people would stop going on about his disability all the time. He had a brilliant mind, and I’m pretty sure he’d rather be remembered for that than how spooky his voice sounded in an auditorium. All those points have been made earlier, several times. Jeez…. give the guy a break….
I’m far FAR from an expert on Hawking’s work and I have never claimed to be. I’m just one of the plebs who found his theories and life interesting …. but….
I think to answer what Hawking’s lasting legacy is one has to ask some questions.
Will his idea’s , theories, body of work be used by existing and future scientists to move things along ? Undoubtedly.
Did he bring Cosmology, Quantum Physics to the masses in terms they could grasp, therefore sparking future generations to question, learn and carry on these studies ? Undoubtedly.
That’s a pretty decent legacy in my book.
On a lighter note ….
I did go to Sunday School, mainly I wanted to go because my mate did, it was ok, sang a few songs, did some colouring in…. I vividly remember causing some sort of upset when I asked why there was a picture of General Custer hanging on the wall.
I think it was the blonde flowing locks that did it ….

No I don’t have a nominated day to sit and read, I have been out tonight trying to drive in a blizzard , trying to care for people truly in need ( I have footage on my phone if you don’t believe me ) it was scary but what can you do ? It is and has been my job for many years I’ve become very close to many patients with varying illnesses and also gone through the devastation of losing loved ones ,as have many, You aren’t alone there are you ? I haven’t been reading up on my argument . I’m terribly sorry no one seems to come up to your standard of expertise on ‘most ‘ subjects, but to call me and some others ‘ignorant characters” is nasty and arrogant.
