For more clarification, as I wouldn’t want people to assume things, I did receive a PM from Sceptical, although it wasn’t pleasant, it was in no way ” sex pesty, fruity, etc etc”, just so we are all clear on that.

    Off to the real world.

    Have a lovely day.  B-)

Just to clarify… My ‘ Like ‘ of the above post is for ‘some’ points and facts given on the EU that I happen to agree with, that’s all.

so which points and facts are correct in our very intelligent man’s flood of information, all constructed in the xenophobic manner which is going to be vicious if, as could well be the case, we have another referendum???

Just asking before giving a response to Mr Big Deal.

By the way, it’s very sad that misunderstanding seems to be dogging our communications with each other, so let me stress that this isn’t an attempt to get at you, just in case you think it is.

You seem to be distancing yourself from some of what our xenophobic mensa member is pushing out, but accept that some of it is true.

That’s a fair enough point to make. I know you dislike the EU much more than ersationI do (I’m not a fan, actually, I want reform).

But if you say which points you agree with, it gives me a clearer idea of how to respond.

    :good:

Ah, now it makes a bit more sense… I won’t repeat the message as I don’t do that, but I was confused to say the least.

Hate to disappoint Sceptical but my quote wasn’t actually aimed at you, wasn’t aimed at anyone. I read Rude’s post, parts of it I agreed with so I ‘liked’ it. Then I realised that certain people, yourself included, take ‘likes’ very seriously, so I explained why I liked it. I don’t have to explain anything to you. You aren’t the board Police, and while I’m aware you’d like me to get ‘stuck in’ so you can get ‘stuck in’ I have no intention of explaining myself because you demand it.

The only person I’m distancing myself from is you, you insufferable prig !

Well, that will teach me to post on a football thread.

I was recounting horrifying scenes on the telly from childhood and I suddenly find myself catapulted into a discussion of the origins of the world and teh survival of the fittest.

    Oh dear.

I’m also opposed to creationism, and accept that things can boil down to a survival of the fittest while we’re going on about it. Doesn’t mean me liking watching animals killing one another, including human animals.

But the most important thing is

*writes note to self. keep away from threads about this sport.

You haven’t been ‘ capitulated’ into anything

I was responding to some points made by Rudeboy….

Moosey states she is offended by the pictures implying the second one of a wolf with blood round its mouth causes offence. Perhaps a lesson in the eco system is in order as she’s isnt a creationist, so how she thinks humanity and other animals have evolved other than kill their prey I’ve no idea- maybe she thinks like you do scep we are descended from fornication in the garden of Eden and a naughty snake slithering down a tree.

In any event, I’m actually more pro “animal rights” than most on here- a few months ago I was arguing with Somer over hunting which I think is fairly despicable in some circumstances, yet the noble moose was nowhere to be seen. She chooses to pipe up over pictures of wolves on a wolves fc topic feigning mock outrage because there’s a dog in it that looks like fido who she takes out for walkies …..

I wished to clarify my thoughts on this and explain to Rudeboy my opinions.

P.S. I’m not a creationist, believe in evolution and survival of the fittest, after all that nasty cheetah has babies to feed right ? I do not believe in God, although if there is a God, she needs to give her head a wobble !!”

Nothing to do with you, as far as I’m concerned anyway, don’t see the need for your feelings of ‘capitulation’. If you or Rude wish to carry on the debate that’s entirely up to you two. Rude and I sorted the issue. No need for any drama ! B-)

Sceptical you can talk about childhood traumas as much as you like, but without evolution ( survival of the fittest) you wouldn’t be alive today. If humans thousands of years ago hasn’t killed wild animals to survive reawakening “childhood traumas” disturbing your comfortable existence by the log fire you wouldn’t be here to comment on it in the first place. The fact Moosey has decided to take a thread purely focused on football and the name of a club subsequently turning it into a rant on animal welfare speaks volumes to her mindset. If the thread was entitled ” lol @ the dog being killed” she may have some grounds to be offended but it’s clearly football related which anyone with a half working braincell can see.

I don’t like hypocrisy so presume moosey is a vegetarian and doesn’t eat meat to satisfy her gluttony as he she so outraged by a picture of a dog. It’s interesting how people like to anthropomorphise when it relates to dogs as it may look like poor little cute family dog patch by the log fire, but when it comes to a dirty old cow in a field these characters are prepared to get stuck into the beef sandwich as they can differentiate in terms of it’s value to not attributing human traits to it. The life of a dog is no more valuable than a sheep/cow/ goat yet because a dog gets patted on the head, it’s suddenly an extension of humanity and should be treated as such?

Moosey states she is offended by the pictures implying the second one of a wolf with blood round its mouth causes offence. Perhaps a lesson in the eco system is in order as she’s isnt a creationist, so how she thinks humanity and other animals have evolved other than kill their prey I’ve no idea- maybe she thinks like you do scep we are descended from fornication in the garden of Eden and a naughty snake slithering down a tree.

Gosh, someone got their Y fronts in a twist !!!

Firstly I must apologise. I was not offended by ‘the pictures’as I stated in my 1st post That was wrong. ! I found only the 1st picture offensive. The wolf with blood round its mouth after a kill didn’t offend me at all, as all the other ‘natural world’ pictures also did not offend me. I’m a major fan of David Attenborough and love his programmes, I’m not squeamish what so ever ! I also enjoy a good rare steak ( as long as the farms pedigree is stated and its supported by the FSA / Assured food standards, look for the tractor symbol). Maybe we do humanise our pets too much, that’s a different argument. I can’t bear unnecessary cruelty and am also vigorously against hunting, had I seen a thread about ‘hunting’ by Somer I would have posted on it I’m sure, but I didn’t. Sometimes I don’t check the boards for weeks, sorry.

What I disliked about the 1st picture is that the wolf is wearing a chain. Unless its pack members have developed opposable  thumbs one can only assume it was put there by a human and that is the crux of my problem with a picture. People can read into pictures what they wish, in my head it looks like poor fido is being used to train to kill or maim. We know these things happen. I apologise again Rudeboy as, on reflection, my post was made hastily, emotionally, ( never a good idea ). As I stated I’d just watched a distressing programme where I was reminded how cruel and sick Humans can be to animals in the name of ‘fun’ with the exact same dog as pictured on your post being used as bate and suffering terrible injuries ( which were fixed but the mental injuries and terror will take a while longer) so…. Sorry if you thought I was attacking you, it was a reaction and not well thought out. By the way, I have never intentionally bullied anyone in my life and as mine and Sceps posts were becoming more personal I decided to stop posting on the subjects he likes to talk about. I knew the post was about football…. Thought you did well against arsenal btw.   :-)   :bye:

I found these pictures disgusting and upsetting.  Tonight watching ‘ For the Love of Dogs ‘ on catch up there was a case of a Saluki  ( the white dog breed  pictured being attacked and trying to escape ) known for being gentle and non aggressive, having horrendous injuries, probably,in the vets opinion, used as a training dog, training other dogs to fight to the end.  Vile, disgusting and showing humans at their worst. Anyone who thinks those pictures are funny are despicable.  is it any wonder people prefer animals to nasty humans.
