as i said slayer according to my mate…..
racism can be percieved differently by every person with differing views,
personally i think racism is when a person attacks another either physically or orally etc pureley because the other person is another colour.
our government have caused us a lot of this misery by legislating bullcrap such as
ba ba coloured sheep have you any wool
wintermass festival
banning children from asking if they can colour in at school less it offends
segregating white and coloured people in swimming pools etc. to me this encourages racism as people will naturally pick a side to follow. we are natural team pickers thats why football rugby etc all do so well as we pick a team to follow white v black etc etc etc thats my ethos and its only my personal opinion. im sure someone will pick it to bits and explain why im wrong but there it is for nowt. as we say up here in th’ills.Again wasp, Im no supporter of Labour but where has anyone legislated that we call xmas “wintermass” or we use baa baa coloured sheep? Ignorant councils and local education authorities may use this in a misguided attempt to be politically correct (and only succeed in the opposite) but no government has enshrined in law this must happen.
Indeed, only 2 weeks ago a school which removed the words (at the headmistresses instruction) the words to 3 little pigs (as they thought using the word pig would offend ffs) was told by the head of the education authority to stop being so bl/oody stupid n put it back.
BUT, why does a black/chinese/muslim/anyone none white get the blame for a misguided white (normally) persons attempt to be none rascist- they find it as ridiculous as you and I that some people call xmas “wintermass”-

If the BNP became positive, it would go such a long way to further their cause however their website is one long soundbite after another of what is wrong (in their eyes) yet they do not issue all their answers, the positives changes (in their eyes) they would make etc
The BNP website is so, so negative

9 May, 2007 at 5:40 pm #269701you asked for my definition of racism………..n you’ve got it
8 May, 2007 at 10:48 pm #269699y’see, the idea of a pedantic argument based on dictionary definitions is futile but fun
The inherent belief in the superiority of one race over all others and thereby the right to dominance.
defined broadly as stigmatization of those we perceive as different from us;
Judging an individual based solely on his or her racial affiliation.
Racism may be expressed individually and consciously, through explicit thoughts, feelings, or acts, or socially and unconsciously
Racism is any form of bigotry, prejudice, violence, oppression, stereotyping or other socially divisive practice whose primary basis is the concept of race.
Sits back n lights the fuse :)
8 May, 2007 at 10:40 pm #269746not that it makes much difference but I read her parents are a GP and a cardiologist.
As others have said, commonsense appears to have been missing but ultimately i am so sorry for the little girl, i genuinely hope the outcome is a positive one
8 May, 2007 at 10:38 pm #270161yes wasp, you are completely right of course
No arrests were ever made in the oldham riots (oh, except the 17 Muslims)
Cant find anything on a riot in Stockport!
N the numerous muslims arrested over the London march last year over the danish cartoons
etc etc
the police dealt with the oldham riot just the same as any other riot (the sort that occur every week throughout the rest of the country but receive no publicity  )- it aint easy arresting people when theres more of them than you.
The idea that in someway (n im no labour supporter) the government appeases the muslim community over any other just doesnt ring true- only this week the hijab was formally advised as being banned in schools and the high court refused the luton girl the right to wear hers.
The teacher who wore her hijab was sacked for wearing it n not taking it off.
For every soundbite you believe, I can find you another one which tells the opposite story
8 May, 2007 at 10:25 pm #269634let me get this straight
To have a pack costs between £450 and £600 n could cost up to £1000
BUT
if you dont have one, you get fined just £200!
Think I’ll skip the pack n take the fine thanks
8 May, 2007 at 10:22 pm #268881I was in swansea last year, out on the town, having a few drinks- cos of my accent (ie non welsh boyo), I stood out like a sore thumb n all I got was friendly chat, a laugh n some nice welsh girlies to put a smile on me face- didnt get the cold shoulder or nothing. In fact, north or south wales is a really nice place but there are bound to be redneck places, jeez walking into salford n using a yorkshire accent is enough to get you lynched!
I dunno wasp, i take people as i find them- the french don’t talk to me except in french (which is unsuprising as its their language) n i dont expect em to talk english to me just cos they can n so i talk to them in their language. The spanish are rude until you can say “dos tazas del café y de un emparedado de jamón por favor” n the greeks are rude unless you spend money. The shop assistant at my local coop is as mardy as yer ar/se n shes white n 60. The assistant over at the newsagent is really chatty n happy n shes not white n about 25.
maybe im just lucky wherever i go- i even got into New Zealand through their notoriously tough customs n they just smiled n wished me a really great stay!!
8 May, 2007 at 10:11 pm #270189Dont worry Wasp, the Tories will be back in next time
