Depends on where you live H
Never knock an idea just cos its old.
Net curtains can be life savers if you live on a bus route, near open ground or hi rise living. In the summer they keep insects and noisy parkers out.

The Treaty of Maastricht was a disaster for unskilled workers in the UK. A wave of cheap labour from the EU cut wages by 1/2 within a few short years. It was so bad the National Minimum Wage Act was brought in and a raft of “in work” benefits.
