Paige, no offense , I don’t normally respond as I find your posts well no , anyway ,

    1) what we joined , I could say were sold down the river on, in the 70,s, nearly 50 years ago was not the EU, I realise you are young, but the common market is so far removed from what the EU is it’s nonsensical to compare the two

    2) we have always helped people from war zones , however we had a choice as to how many , depending on the circumstances and we are a small island and should be able to limit that ,  if and when our infrastructure can not cope and the nationals of the country suffer as a consequence

3 &4 ) Animal testing restrictions would have come about naturally, ya know like slavery ? We didn’t need the EU to become one of the First Nations to condemn slavery despite our close association with it

    4) Dont need a visa lol ? yes and look what’s happened ? Great for backpackers , not so good for people on Westminster bridge or the Manchester arena , is being checked and obtaining a visa really such a hardship ?

I’ve lost count ? Forced us into keeping our own currency ? Is this an attempt at sarcasm ? I seem to remember that was a bloody fight and aren’t we glad now we did it ???  Or did you mean it was kind of them to let us ??

i get that the ‘ young ‘ think that you are the only ones ever to be ‘young’ , no one before you travelled, saw the world, experienced new cultures etc etc, obviously everyone born before   1995 never went anywhere and sat at home with Scep reading the Economist and eating marmite on bread , followed by a Vienetta for tea every Sunday ….  no offense but do grow up  :good:

Btw Scep, I did say it may be me bonkers , or maybe you , not really dismissive and disregarding , unlike your constant ” I have no idea what your talking about ” comments and…. It gets better …. ” if you don’t know what your talking about its fine just don’t pretend to ” I think they are far more insulting than me suggesting one of us is bonkers.  You really need a sense of reality and humour. ( oh no hang on I’m pretty sure someone once told you you have one ) We don’t live inside a Dickens novel, well not most of us anyway ….. Stay well, make sure you’ve snuffed those candles out , don’t spill cocoa on your cravat and enjoy your broadsheets with your All Bran and black tea xxxx

    :bye:

Still chuckling at ‘ get a back copy in your local Library ? ”

The Economist ?   Is it this sort of statement which just baffles people ? Sorry if it’s personal but it’s odd

    a) he assumes I’ve never heard of it hence the ?

    b) he assumes I’ve never heard of it and if I had I’ve never read it

    c) he thinks I’d have to go to a library to read it

    d) all of the above and just trying to throw in a ‘ source’ one of very few lol  to look clever.

    Quite funny really lol

Oh do you mean the Rothschild family who had direct dealings in setting up the common market ?  :negative:   :yahoo:

Not intimidated at all Gerry, tho I see your point. I’ve heard interviews with store high street managers who say the only threat they have is a growing tendency to shop online and Brexit uncertainty hasn’t affected sales, also a director of a car parts manufacturer who also said no change other than a steady incline . A spokesman for the GMC also advised not to panic and that adequate supplies of drugs used by the NHS were readily available from all over globe not just Europe. I mean if you think about it ,it does make sense and makes the scaremongering yelling of empty shelves and people dying in hospital corridors look ridiculous Ppl die in hospital corridors now  for many reasons , lack of staff  Lack of funding. Buying over priced drugs from Europe that are cheaper elsewhere .  Lack of communication. Lack of blood !! Not Brexit lol   I don’t need to prove your ‘ here say ‘ stories are wrong, you should name your sources, which supermarket manager was that then ?? For every ‘ here say ‘example you give there is a counter claim so give over with your ” it’s been reported that…. And I heard that “” nonsense. It means and proves nothing. No one here supporting leave has said it wouldn’t be without hurdles and problems. However we have hurdles and problems constantly  being in the EU !!! Or hadn’t you noticed ?  …..

Gerry, you’ve just preempted my next post which was the frustration about wheeling out the multi millionaire Blair to voice his saccharin and particularly unwanted opinions, wonder how much his back hander is !?  It’s like a badly written 1970’s comedy sketch, cue Benny Hill running around a tree…

Thin, as I said I didn’t mean to come across as patronizing , sorry, I also agree with some of your opinions

However, the burning question still remains….  Does anyone understand what I say ?? Lol  :mail:

Out of curiosity, does anyone else not have a clue what I’m on about ?

So rude and patronizing …. again

Perhaps someone could explain how the Leave élite think we can avoid the suffering of a no-deal Brexit, because the ‘stories’ I’ve heard from everyone else, Leaver and Remainer, seem pretty convincing!

What is your favourite part of the EU?

What stories ? What Plummer ? Someone in the EU said ?  I’ve heard that  ,… etc   It’s been reported that ,, etc etc ,, why are your heresay claims  more valid than anyone else’s and why do you feel the need to repeat everything ?

Thin, quite surprised at your ‘ informed ‘ opinions, don’t mean to sound patronizing, just didn’t think it was your ‘ thang ‘

For clarification purposes, I , personally have no issue with people who voted remain. They are entitled to their opinion and their vote. The only issue I have is in the delivering of said opinions. Repetition, language used to school children, saying “ I’ve no idea what you are talking about” in an effort to belittle and dismiss people, when , In fact they have no direct response . No one knows the outcome and as much as some people think that by constantly blathering on and on repeating everything , just jumbling up the wording ,  quoting googled facts and figures and re-hashing quotes from Newspapers as if it’s their own thoughts , has made this debate practically unbearable

    Sorry  :-)

Yep True. Somer do you like Maroon 5 ? I don’t think there is a song they’ve done that I didn’t like….. And Adam Levine, well. What can I say….. Totally dreamy, shexy, and gaw!!!  The whole band are really talented  and as you say talent lasts as they have.

So apart from all that, what do you want ?

I want us to remain in the EU. Why is that in doubt?

I don’t want a referendum – at this moment. We should rejoin at the appropriate moment – when people realise that life outside the EU is worse than life inside the EU. That could happen quite quickly.

But if the referendum comes now, so be it.

How can only 1 vote each in a democratic decision made by the people be tyranny ?? How many votes do you want ??

I have no idea what you are talking about now.

I said to only vote once is tyranny, meaning that to have a vote to leave and then stop people voting to change their mind or reaffirming their decision is tyranny. :-(

You know exactly what I am talking about as does everyone else. We know you ‘wanted’ to remain in the EU. I said as much, why are you suggesting it’s in any doubt ?   You wanted to remain but you lost the vote so we are leaving, why are you saying that had leave lost we would be demanding another vote ? I disagree, we’ve lived with proposterous crap we get from the EU for years I think people would have carried on as normal ! It is because you lot were so sure we would be remaining that you winge and moan and demand we all try again, until we get the result you want. A referendum is 1 vote per person, and the side which has the most votes wins, are you following so far . Because you want another vote hoping a few will change their minds does not make it tyranny, it makes it you lost !

Grasping at straws now, it’s ludicrous quite frankly and makes a mockery of any valid points you may have made earlier  :negative:
